Centennial Celebration Commences For Madera Irrigation District

Madera Irrigation District’s (MID or District) Centennial Celebration activities will commence on January 16, 2020 with the unveiling of a 100-year monument.

The monument, located at the District’s office, was constructed by the Grub Gulch Chapter of E Clampus Vitus.   The Grub Gulch Chapter of E Clampus Vitus is comprised of approximately 200 members in Madera County.  Their community contributions in monument construction preserve the historical significance of events, people, and locations throughout the County of Madera.  It took the organization over 160 hours to construct the monument.  Engraved on the monument is a history and tribute to the Madera Irrigation District and its 100-years of existence.  Also, included on the monument is a memorial plaque for retired MID employee Sal Gallegos, who worked for MID for close to 30 years and passed away on September 26, 2019.

The unveiling of the monument will occur at 1:30pm on January 16, 2020 at the District’s office and the public is welcome.
